Emotions were high as parents and beneficiaries of the annual Red Star Foundation scholarship rose in unison to express their profound gratitude to the management of Red Star Express Plc, the company responsible for the scholarship of some students in public schools in Lagos.

Presenting the awards, the Managing Director, Red Star Express, Mr. Sule Bichi, said the purpose of the scholarship was to encourage young and brilliant but indigent students to aim for excellence. To ensure continuity, he implored the beneficiaries to demonstrate continuous academic excellence throughout the duration of the scholarship and show exemplary character and integrity.

The beneficiaries were chosen based on presented evidence of demonstrated academic excellence through their previous results and a scholarship examination conducted by University of Lagos Consult.

Speaking on behalf of other recipients, an an SS1  student of  Unity Grammar School, Oshodi, Master Adebayo Mark, commended the company for its commitment to the scholarship programme which, in no small amount, has eased some of the burden shouldered by their parents, especially regarding their educational needs.
